Position Overview

The Vascular Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering essential diagnostic insights to support healthcare professionals in the assessment and management of vascular conditions. This position is integral to the operational framework of The Vascular Care Group, ensuring adherence to established protocols and professional standards.

Reporting Structure
This position will report directly to the Technical Director of Ultrasound for clinical guidance and to the Office Manager for administrative oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination areas and ultrasound machinery to perform sonographic evaluations while adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and execute diagnostic imaging as directed by the supervising physician, following established professional and facility guidelines.
  • Utilize independent, ethical judgment and critical analysis to safely carry out diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Employ professional discretion during imaging to ensure accurate capture of relevant anatomical and pathological features.
  • As needed, obtain supplementary ultrasound images to enhance diagnostic accuracy for the interpreting physician.
  • Identify and document any limitations encountered during the imaging process.
  • Comply with all IAC accreditation standards, including conducting quality assurance evaluations.
  • Review imaging results, synthesize findings, and prepare preliminary reports for healthcare providers.
  • Ensure all reports meet comprehensive billing criteria.
  • Conduct quality control checks to maintain optimal functionality of ultrasound equipment and oversee a preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Support the daily operations of the imaging facility.
  • Assist in prioritizing tasks based on workflow dynamics.
  • Complete additional projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or formal training.
  • RVT or RVS certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Capability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to accept local and regional assignments as necessary.
  • Desire to learn and implement new modalities, products, and services as they become available.
