Job Summary

Terra State Community College is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Student Transition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our college readiness team, you will play a vital role in supporting students as they transition from high school to college or the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group advising to students on academic and career planning, helping them to develop their goals and identify resources and support services.
  • Work with students to navigate the college application process, including financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations on college and career readiness, helping students to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Coordinate with other campus departments and community agencies to provide support services to students, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on program effectiveness to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience working with students in a college or career readiness setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including students with disabilities and those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
