Job Overview

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver effective classroom instruction for Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses. The instructor will foster collaborative, student-led teams, design engaging lessons, and demonstrate a strong commitment to STEAM/STEM education. The focus will be on project and problem-based learning that actively involves students in real-world applications, ensuring that all learners meet the course objectives outlined in the PLTW Curriculum.

This position requires travel between two Global Educational Excellence Academies.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in extensive training (approximately 100 hours) during the summer months to achieve certification for teaching selected courses. [Training is compensated, and a daily attendance stipend is provided]
  • Develop course objectives and outlines in alignment with PLTW curriculum guidelines, state requirements, and school standards.
  • Guide collaborative student teams, assign lessons and projects, and provide constructive feedback to enhance student learning.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, maintain records, and communicate results to parents through reports or meetings.
  • Establish and uphold behavioral standards and procedures to maintain order in the classroom.
  • Maintain discipline and manage classroom dynamics effectively.
  • Keep accurate attendance records.
  • Foster positive working relationships through active communication with colleagues and parents.
  • Engage in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, educational conferences, and mentorship programs.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to staff committees as needed.
  • Ensure a visually appealing and organized classroom environment while taking proper care of academy resources.
  • Perform additional tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of a criminal background check is required, in accordance with state regulations.

Must possess the necessary certification/licensure.

Demonstrated ability to facilitate student learning in collaborative and problem-solving settings.

Must hold the required PLTW certifications or be willing to undergo training.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with students, faculty, and administration.

Proficient in the use of all PLTW-related software applications.

Physical Requirements:

The employee must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the position, which may include lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. The work environment may have elevated noise levels.
