Interior Trim Engineer

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a highly skilled Interior Trim Engineer to join our team in Superior Township, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Interior Trim parts, as well as performing releasing duties for North American-based vehicle projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Interior Trim components, including pillar trim, carpet, door trim, and headliners
• Develop innovative solutions to improve cost, mass, performance, and quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering concepts and see parts through to mass production
• Communicate project status and results through technical reports and presentations
• Assess current designs and competitor benchmarking to recommend engineering improvements
• Mentor and develop fellow engineers within the group
• Lead Advanced Development projects related to part- or system-level improvements for future vehicles

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in Interior Trim component design and development
• Knowledge of US regulations and design, manufacturing, and assembly of Interior Trim components
• Experience utilizing Computer-Aided Design tools (CATIA V5 ideal, but not required)
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestically and internationally
