Paralegal Specialist Job Description

The Paralegal Specialist role in the U.S. Army is a unique opportunity to gain valuable training and experience in the field of law. As a Paralegal Specialist, you will provide legal and administrative support to unit commanders and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal documents in courts-martial, Article 15 actions, and other military justice matters
  • Review line of duty determinations, AR 15-6 investigations, separation board proceedings, and other administrative law matters
  • Assist in family law, including power of attorney, wills, and separation decrees
Training and Development:

As a Paralegal Specialist, you will receive 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. You will learn essential skills, including legal terminology and research techniques, preparation of legal documents, and the Army judicial process.

The skills you acquire as a Paralegal Specialist will prepare you for a career as a legal assistant, paralegal, or court clerk in the civilian world.

Requirements:
  • Be under 35 years old
