Allied Universal is seeking a Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs - Contracts.
This pivotal role will support the Legal Services Group and various operational sectors within the organization.
The Senior Vice President will lead and manage an exceptional team of legal experts, collaborate within a cohesive legal team, and operate from the organization’s corporate headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Transactions:
- Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate a variety of contracts and legal documents, focusing on agreements with clients and vendors across multiple business sectors.
- Participate in and/or lead negotiations regarding contractual terms and conditions.
- Review and enhance Allied Universal contract templates across various business sectors.
- Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and protocols to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency of executing commercial transactions.
- Support the organization’s goals and objectives related to mergers and acquisitions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Develop and implement internal process enhancements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, with a focus on the North American business sectors and the security industry.
- Identify potential areas of regulatory risk and vulnerability; create and implement action plans to resolve issues and provide guidance on avoiding similar situations in the future.
- Design and deliver training for employees on various compliance and regulatory matters, providing regular updates on regulatory developments to relevant organizational leaders.
- Formulate strategic responses to complex issues arising from client and vendor relationships that may involve regulatory requirements or contractual provisions.
- Independently manage large-scale projects, including policy rollouts, stakeholder communication, and advocating for best practices.
Leadership:
- Effectively lead and develop team members, including managing other attorneys as direct reports, while balancing and successfully executing individual matters.
Qualifications (Required):
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- At least six (6) years of experience as a regulatory and transactional attorney in a large corporate law firm.
- Minimum of three (3) years of in-house legal experience.
- Proven track record of overseeing major large-scale corporate or cross-functional projects.
- Experience in federal, state, and local government contracting and international transactions.
- Ability to support business leaders on international contracting and manage/create efficient contract and compliance processes utilizing available technology.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interface and communicate with a diverse range of internal groups, including all employee levels, in-house legal counsel, external legal counsel, clients, regulatory officials, consultants, and vendors.
- Capacity to conceptualize, communicate, plan, promote/influence, implement, and manage multiple project initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and drafting skills, with attention to detail and a self-driven problem-solving approach.
- Ability to demonstrate integrity, a strong work ethic, and maintain a high level of discretion.
- Capability to drive deliverables and influence both internal and external stakeholders in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desirable):
- Strong background in licensing, data privacy, and data security.
