Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the RN Unit Manager or Director of Nursing, the Practical Nursing Specialist is responsible for providing licensed care and ensuring accountability for assigned residents during your shift. Your nursing care will involve the coordination, implementation, and assessment of each resident's care plan.

The Practical Nursing Specialist will adhere to established care standards, manage the environment to ensure resident safety, and oversee the care activities performed by nursing assistants. Compliance with all center policies and procedures is essential, as well as performing duties as outlined by the State Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as an LPN in the state.
  • Maintain up-to-date CPR certification.
  • Proficient in using medical supplies and equipment (e.g., feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart).
  • Ability to accurately calculate medication dosages.
  • Meet all health requirements mandated by law.
  • Demonstrate positive and effective communication with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other staff.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, with basic computer skills and a willingness to learn company applications.
