Field Service Technician Lead

Job Summary:
Regal Rexnord Corp is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician Lead to join our team. This is a field position requiring out-of-town travel for the majority of the time. The successful candidate will perform mechanical, electrical, and/or controls/programming upgrades, modifications, repairs, maintenance, service, troubleshooting, startup, installation, supervision, audits, training, and support for packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning of ASBU equipment
- Programming equipment from scratch
- Supervising customer personnel or contractors on electrical installation work
- Carrying out panel wiring
- Submitting daily trip reports
- Submitting weekly expense reports and ensuring weekly hours are added to ADP
- Following all company policies
- Carrying out all company training as required
- Assisting with training of new hires on all equipment
- Conducting all pre-site safety meetings
- Advising PM and FSM of any issues
- Highly skilled specialist with practical knowledge of area of expertise
- Works to support the achievement of business targets with moderate impact on departmental results
- Receives little instruction on daily work
- May be a facilitator or team lead; may have input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions
- Communicates with contacts both within and outside of function; sometimes has responsibility communicating to parties outside of the organization
- Works to influence parties within department at an operational level
- Typically requires minimum of 6-7 years of experience. May require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience
Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience with mechanical work within an industrial, manufacturing, or military setting, emphasizing the importance of mechanical systems
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, emphasizing the ability to understand complex diagrams and blueprints
- Flexibility to work on all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, showcasing dedication to ensuring uninterrupted operations
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED, confirming the basic educational qualification necessary for the role
- Strong commitment to safety, adhering to all safety rules and regulations and properly utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE), specifically emphasizing its importance in mechanical safety
- Safe operation of forklift, manlift, and other rental equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and wiring practices would be an asset
- Field Service Technicians can expect a workload utilization of 75-80%, which may involve working two to three weekends per month, frequent last-minute dispatches due to the nature of the industry, occasional work on Holidays to align with customer project schedules, and potential opportunities for overseas work, averaging around 10% per year
- Field Service Technicians are required to have personal credit cards, as expenses incurred during work-related activities will be reimbursed within a prompt period of 5 days upon submission of the expense report
- Applicants must have legal authorization for employment in the United States as a prerequisite for consideration. A valid Driver's license with a clean driving record and limited violations is also required
- Physical stamina and strength to safely lift and move heavy equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods
- Mobility to navigate diverse work environments, including climbing structures and accessing different areas
- Agility and balance to move freely and safely within various locations
- Capability to walk on uneven surfaces and maneuver through tight spaces
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing as part of job requirements
- Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to drive for long distances as needed
- Visual acuity to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum
