Job Profile Summary

The Financial Reporting Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data consolidation, reporting, and compliance. This position collaborates closely with various departments to gather, validate, and consolidate financial information from multiple sources and prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders. Develops and delivers comprehensive monthly and annual financial & management reporting for C-Suite executive leadership and the Board of Trustees. Works closely with business management financial analysts, fund development & grants management personnel, and other internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and distributes internal and external financial statements, financial performance reports, and other funder/agency reports monthly.
  • Serves as a key member in the accounting and financial planning process; develops, coordinates, and/or manages the financial budgets, forecasts, and models to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Utilizes historical performance and growth projections to evaluate business performance, analyze trends, and project future financial outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Controller, and Finance Directors to support the monthly closing process, budget and forecast reporting; analyzes all financial reports and assists in the improvement and execution process and reviews.
  • Performs complex financial analysis and variance analysis reporting; creates financial system reporting solutions, tracks activities, and forecasts.
  • Develops and maintains supporting documents for all financial reports; provides an overview of reports for the agency and board committees; coordinates and prepares recurring financial consolidation reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, management dashboards, and presentations for management.
  • Prepares monthly cash flow analysis and weekly cash and investment reports for the CFO, supporting weekly cash flow, review analyses, and decision-making.
  • Leads scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate potential financial outcomes and risks and makes recommendations to program management.
  • Collaborates with the Controller to comprise, analyze, and submit indirect cost reports to federal cognizant authorizing agency.
  • Assists the Controller with the development and management of the Total Restricted Net Asset Report, Private Funder Contribution Report, and other reports in support of agency private grant fund development activities.
  • Reconciles, coordinates, and validates financial information between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Human Resource Management (HRM) systems.
  • Supports the Controller in developing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls over financial reporting per generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), uniform guidance, contractual requirements, and other regulatory agencies and private foundations' requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required. Master's degree in Business Administration desired.
  • 5+ years of finance experience specifically related to data analysis and reporting required. Non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Experience creating forecasts and providing recommendations to upper management.
  • Senior-level experience a plus.
