Role Overview

As a Data Quality Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our web scraping pipelines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and Maintaining Existing Scripts
  • Deploying and Automating Python Pipelines using Google Cloud and Google Colab
  • Cleaning and Standardizing Data to Ensure Consistency Across Datasets
  • Monitoring Scraper Performance and Troubleshooting Issues to Ensure High-Quality Data Collection
  • Collaborating with the Team to Develop New Templates and Improve Existing Ones
  • Implementing Quality Assurance Processes to Ensure Data Accuracy and Completeness
  • Utilizing Google Drive for Data Storage and Management
  • Optimizing Code for Efficiency and Scalability

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python with a focus on data collection libraries such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Pyppeteer.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Google Colab for code execution and Google Drive for data storage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in handling data quality issues.
  • Knowledge of regular expressions and data cleaning techniques.
  • Understanding of APIs and handling dynamic web content (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
