Job Overview

The Clinical Dietitian I plays a vital role in providing optimal nutritional care to patients, adhering to the highest standards of care in the dietetic profession.

This role is responsible for the medical nutrition therapy of patient/residents, including nutritional assessments, nutrition care plans, patient visitation, diet counseling, and consults regarding advanced nutrition support.

The Clinical Dietitian I collaborates with physicians and nursing to deliver quality nutrition care, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities
  • Performs age-specific nutritional assessments and develops nutritional plans
  • Develops appropriate care plans, monitoring the nutritional status of patients
  • Appropriately interprets patient data and responses to diet
  • Counsels patients and/or family on nutrition education
  • Consults with other health care personnel as appropriate
  • Manages time effectively to complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Participates in hospital committee, i.e., multidisciplinary rounds, etc.
  • Assists in supporting the highest possible patient satisfaction levels
  • Ensures program effectiveness and in achievement of department and client goals
Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian or RD eligible-completed ADA approved internship
  • Work experience in a health care environment
