We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Medicine team at West Tennessee Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert care and treatment to patients with sports-related injuries, as well as participating in the prevention and assessment of injuries in various industries.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Professional Opinion and Judgment: Offer expert advice and guidance to medical staff, coaches, and other hospital personnel on patient/athlete evaluations and treatments.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapy Department: Assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and provide clinical support to the Physical Therapy team.
- Schedule and Maintain Patient Records: Schedule outpatients in the appropriate setting and maintain and update department and patient records according to department guidelines.
- Identify Shortages and Request Supplies: Identify shortages and needed replacements, and request supplies and repairs as necessary.
- Monitor and Care for Equipment: Monitor and care for equipment issued to you, including AEDs, splints, and tables.
- Participate in Community Outreach: Participate in a visitation program for local high school athletic programs, providing free consulting services on prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Provide Coverage for Fitness Centers: Provide coverage for fitness centers in various industries, and participate in wellness initiatives and provide treatment for injuries after evaluation following OSHA standards.
- Perform Department-Related Paperwork: Accurately and timely complete department-related paperwork, including Sports Aware, Community Benefit form, Mileage reports, stipends, etc.
- Participate in OSHA Certification: Participate in OSHA certification requirements for working in various industries in our community.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from a college or university with an Athletic Training Education Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
- Licensure, Registration, Certification: Current certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association, and current State of Tennessee License as an Athletic Trainer by the State Board of Athletic Trainers.
- Experience: N/A
