Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist PRN to join our team at HighPoint - Sumner Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in managing drug therapy protocols and providing pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Review, interpret, and evaluate medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug-related problems
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students
  • Document interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts
  • Evaluate medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry
  • Check for accuracy after filling by technicians
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy - Required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy - Preferred
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Licenses: State of Tennessee Pharmacist licensure - Required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 90 days of hire, if not current upon hire
