Job Summary

PIH Health is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement all nursing care services for patients in a Radiation Oncology setting.
  • Ensure the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care while maintaining compliance with professional nursing standards, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a RN in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
  • Experience in orthopedic or oncology preferred.
  • RN, current in the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification preferred or included in education plan.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
