Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance/Test Technician is responsible for executing quality control and assurance inspections and testing procedures related to the manufacturing and distribution of networking products. This role involves collaboration with quality engineers on calibration tasks, conducting rework, and performing quality assessments on various components, subassemblies, and final products. The technician utilizes advanced software to gather and analyze data, assists engineers in experimental processes, and executes assembly and testing of system solutions in alignment with established test plans and protocols. The role also includes debugging and characterizing defects, providing comprehensive configurations and descriptions for both successful and unsuccessful test reports, and maintaining thorough documentation of testing operations while reporting findings to engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality inspections on customer returns, pre-delivery products, and during receiving and shipping processes.
  • Perform audits on the production line.
  • Manage nonconforming products effectively.
  • Implement preventive and corrective actions.
  • Assist in analyzing product and process failures.
  • Carry out basic statistical analyses.
  • Execute prototype testing, debugging, system integration assembly, and experimental testing.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers and Product Engineers on testing experiments and manufacturing issues.
  • Engage with warehouse and business unit personnel on quality assurance activities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional demeanor with strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Positive and productive interaction across various organizational functions.
  • Demonstrate ownership of responsibilities and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Open to feedback for performance improvement.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and involve appropriate stakeholders in the decision-making process.
  • Manage shifting priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.

Education:

A one-year certificate from a college or technical school is required.

Work Environment:

The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential functions in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels. Responsibilities may include occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching. Consistent work on a PC is necessary, and the ability to sit and use a keyboard and/or telephone for extended periods is required.
