Key Responsibilities- Provide Research Support: Offer expert research assistance to faculty, students, and staff, ensuring they have access to the latest legal information and resources.
- Teach and Train: Develop and deliver research instruction to students, including teaching in our Basic Legal Research program, a required first-year course.
- Support Faculty Research: Collaborate with law faculty on research projects, providing guidance on legal research and scholarship platforms.
- Create Learning Tools: Design and maintain asynchronous learning tools, including research guides and online tutorials, to support student learning.
- Stay Current: Stay up-to-date with new developments in library reference, research, and instructional services, ensuring our community has access to the latest knowledge and resources.
- Committee Work: Serve on various committees, including Law School, University Libraries, and other relevant groups, to contribute to the development of our library services.
- Education: J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and MLS (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited institution.
- Experience: At least three years of prior experience working in research and reference services in a law library, with a demonstrated ability to teach law students and partner with law faculty on research projects.
- Skills: Strong customer service ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with diverse patrons and colleagues. Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
