Job Summary

As a Child Support Officer II with the Office of the Attorney General's Child Support Division, you will play a critical role in promoting responsible parenting and ensuring children receive the support they need and deserve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed investigations to locate absent parents and establish paternity.
  • Enforce court orders for child support and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Negotiate lump sum payments from noncustodial parents who owe past due child/medical support.
  • Monitor child support cases and refer delinquent cases for enforcement action.
  • Document all case actions taken using the Texas Child Support Enforcement System (TXCSES).
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience.
  • Strong interviewing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Knowledge of investigative practices and techniques.
  • Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish.
