Position Overview
This role is situated within the Space Systems Development (SSD) division, which focuses on pioneering concepts and systems that will enable sustainable living and working in space.
Our team is composed of diverse collaborators and problem-solvers dedicated to a culture of safety.

Your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the future of space exploration, demanding meticulous attention to safety and repeatability in spaceflight.

As part of the SSD Formulation team, you will engage in multidisciplinary efforts encompassing power systems, simulation, thermal and fluid management, guidance, navigation, control (GNC), autonomy, command and control, data handling, electrical integration, avionics, and propulsion.

In this dynamic environment, you will lead assignments while also contributing your technical expertise as an individual contributor.

Key Responsibilities
Our Formulation team employs an agile approach to swiftly tackle early-stage formulation tasks through three-week sprints. Your role will involve:
1. Leading assignments in a fast-paced environment.
2. Actively participating in team initiatives.
3. Applying your technical knowledge and leadership skills to support our vision.
4. Navigating ambiguity and identifying pathways to success.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in thermal analysis and tools such as Thermal Desktop/Sinda Fluint and Ansys.
- Experience in model development and post-processing using Matlab and Python.
- Familiarity with spacecraft thermal control systems and thermal environments in space.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively across engineering disciplines.
- Experience collaborating with system and design engineers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster trust and maintain professional relationships.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with spacecraft radiator design and analysis.
- Familiarity with test fixture setup for thermal control system evaluation.
- Knowledge of pumped fluid loop systems and heat pipe design.
