Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and organized individual to provide emergency assistance to those in crisis. As an Emergency Assistance Worker, you will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing service plans, and providing material assistance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview clients to assess their needs and develop service plans
  • Provide material assistance, such as clothing, food, and household furnishings, based on client needs
  • Collaborate with area agencies to implement service plans and provide referrals to additional resources
  • Document client information and service plans in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with clients, colleagues, and community partners
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Participation in continued training and educational programming to enhance job competencies and meet certification requirements
  • Administrative and bookkeeping experience with a background in a computer-based work environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
Competencies:
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills, including assessment, service planning, and material assistance
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Work Environment:

This position is required to do light physical work and is based in an office environment with a low to medium noise level.

The successful candidate will be a team player who is able to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
