Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Counseling: Provide financial counseling to patients and their families, including explaining financial options, assisting with insurance applications, and helping patients understand their financial responsibilities.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits, and communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Financial Estimates: Prepare and provide patients with detailed financial estimates for their medical services, including costs and payment options.
  • Payment Collection: Collect payments from patients and their families, and ensure that all financial obligations are met.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff to ensure that financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient financial information, including insurance coverage, payments, and financial estimates.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience in a financial or patient services role required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a hospital setting. The successful candidate will be required to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff.
