Bear Mountain at Worcester is seeking a seasoned and innovative Unit Manager to lead our Worcester, MA location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall care and dignity of residents on our specialized Vent unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide direction and support to ancillary staff in clinical and personnel matters, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Clinical Expertise: Utilize your nursing expertise to provide guidance and support to residents and families on clinical issues and challenges, resolving concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
  • Staff Management: Ensure sufficient staff is available to meet regulatory requirements and clinical needs, reviewing perspective admissions to determine needs and ensuring all staff adhere to infection control and safety principles.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement strategies to maintain high-quality care, conducting regular assessments and reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient records.
  • Communication: Foster open communication with residents, families, and staff, addressing concerns and providing updates on unit activities and initiatives.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regular reports to the DON/ADON, highlighting key issues and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Nursing Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a charge nurse and/or supervisor role, preferably in traumatic brain injury and/or psych.
  • Licensure: Active MA nursing license.
  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN preferred but not required.
