Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Manage Clinical Staff: Supervise and manage a team of clinical staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
  • Resolve Grievances and Personnel Issues: Resolve grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities, providing input based on observations related to counseling and disciplinary issues.
  • Plan and Implement Clinical Staffing: Plan, implement, and evaluate the clinical staffing needs on a daily basis to adequately support patient care in a given area, assigning clinical staff based upon patient acuity, practice volume, staff qualifications, and department policy.
  • Assist with Patient Concerns: Assist Manager or others in responding to patient concerns as needed, monitoring and addressing patient complaints within position responsibility, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Provide Leadership and Guidance: Provide effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the clinical staff for effective teamwork and motivation, fostering the effective integration of efforts with clinic-wide initiatives.
  • Develop Policies and Programs: Assist in developing policies and programs within the department, acting as a positive role model for staff.
  • Manage Patient Flow and Access: Assist in managing patient flow and access, matching patient volumes and staffing to meet expectations of patients/customers.
  • Evaluate and Adjust: Evaluate daily patient flow in the clinical area to maintain access standards and open communication with patients and providers, making adjustments as appropriate to maintain organized, efficient patient flow in the clinical station.
  • Provide Education and Tools: Provide clinical staff with information, education, and tools to ensure they are supporting efficient patient flow and telephone triage in the practice.
  • Participate in Budget Development: Participate in the development and recommendation of the operating and capital budgets for the areas managed, managing activities to ensure financial goals met, monitoring expenditures for compliance to approved budget, resolving discrepancies.
  • Promote Collaboration: Promote collaborative relationships between clinical staff and other departments, participating in the development and implementation of clinical performance standards, including on-going monitoring of clinical staff competence.
  • Mentor and Develop Staff: Mentor clinical staff in the creation of a climate of clinical and professional expertise, demonstrating an ability to work effectively and communicate frequently with other members of the direct patient care and administrative teams, orchestrating and actively participating in daily huddles for his/her assigned clinical unit.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current License as an RN in the State of Massachusetts: Current license as an RN in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • 3+ Years of Hands-on Nursing Experience: 3+ years of hands-on nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Software Applications: Demonstrated knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
