Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our firewall infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with our IT teams to ensure the security and integrity of our network, while providing reliable network access to our faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain firewall infrastructure to ensure network security and integrity
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards
  • Provide technical expertise to faculty, staff, and students to ensure reliable network access
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies to ensure our network remains secure
Requirements
  • Five years of experience in network security engineering, preferably in an academic or research setting
  • Significant experience with firewall solutions, including Cisco Secure Access, Cisco ASA/Firepower, VPN, Palo Alto, Fortinet Next Generation Firewall, and Cisco Secure IPS
  • Strong understanding of CIS and NIST security standards and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience in network security engineering
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certifications
