Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, development, monitoring, and support of both new and existing software and Lightning applications within our On-Device Commerce engineering team.

Your responsibilities will encompass the prioritization, planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of software and middleware applications in a continuous operational environment.

We seek a candidate who excels in both high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution, capable of addressing complex problems from multiple perspectives.

You will collaborate closely with business partners, product teams, program management, and other engineering groups to understand project requirements, negotiate scope and budget, and establish timelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with project stakeholders to define product and technical specifications.
  • Conduct analyses to identify integration requirements.
  • Design and develop new software and web applications, as well as enhance existing applications.
  • Implement a software update process for current applications and assist in software release rollouts.
  • Mentor junior Software Development Engineers on proprietary software applications.
  • Oversee the creation and editing of documentation, including evaluation plans and technical manuals.
  • Stay updated with industry technological advancements and assess competitive applications.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and mentor junior engineers.
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure timely delivery of software that meets specifications and budget.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to validate application compliance with technical requirements.

Essential Skills

We are looking for candidates with:
  • Strong expertise in Lightning Application development and JavaScript/NodeJS.
  • Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in integrating with various back-end service architectures, including RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
  • Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Linux.

Preferred Skills

Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
  • Experience with ELK - Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services.
  • Knowledge of Concourse.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
