Research Professor of Biochemistry or Molecular Biology

Merrimack College is seeking a distinguished biochemist or molecular biologist to join our faculty as a research professor. This is a full-time 9-month appointment that will be made at the Associate or Full Professor level with tenure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a nationally recognized research program in biochemistry or molecular biology
  • Mentor junior faculty and contribute to the development of research clusters and labs
  • Participate in the expansion of life sciences research within the Center for Health Inclusion, Research and Practice (CHIRP)
  • Contribute to the creation of an interdisciplinary hub for the Life Sciences at Merrimack College

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
  • Successful record of maintaining a competitively funded research program
  • Sustained record of teaching, service, and scholarly achievements consistent with the rank of a tenured associate or full professor
  • Demonstrated commitment to the enhancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Robust record of NSF and/or NIH funding
  • Experience building and/or contributing to doctoral programs in the life sciences
