Job Opportunity

Merrimack College is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with a joint appointment to the Department of Natural Sciences and Department of Psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a research program in neuroscience, focusing on biochemical, cellular, or molecular perspectives, and contribute to the growth of life sciences research at Merrimack College.

The ideal candidate will have a strong research background, a proven track record of securing extramural funding, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will also be expected to teach courses in our undergraduate neuroscience major and mentor students in their research endeavors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Outstanding research productivity and/or potential, as demonstrated by publications, conference presentations, grant submissions, and funding awards
  • Record of extramural research funding commensurate with career stage
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research focus in non-vertebrate and/or computational models
  • Experience in advising, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
