Biochemistry Professor

Merrimack College is seeking a highly accomplished biochemist or molecular biologist to join our team as a Research Professor of Biochemistry. This is a full-time 9-month appointment that will be made at the Associate or Full Professor level with tenure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish a nationally recognized research program in biochemistry or molecular biology
• Mentor junior faculty seeking extramural research funding
• Contribute to the expansion of life sciences research within the Center for Health Inclusion, Research and Practice (CHIRP)
• Play a pivotal role in creating an interdisciplinary hub for the Life Sciences at Merrimack College

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
• A successful record of maintaining a competitively funded research program
• A sustained record of teaching, service, and scholarly achievements consistent with the rank of a tenured associate or full professor
• A demonstrated track record of mentoring junior faculty
• A demonstrated commitment to the enhancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

• A robust record of NSF and/or NIH funding
• Experience building and/or contributing to doctoral programs in the life sciences
