Maintenance Manager Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is the key leader responsible for ensuring the optimal condition of our hotel's facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role oversees the maintenance and repair of all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, as well as preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures and extend the lifespan of our assets.
  • Manage and maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop, as well as secure hotel inventory and assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to health, safety, and environmental services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and report on maintenance budgets, expenses, and inventory levels.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in maintenance and facilities management.
Requirements:
  • Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification and license required by law.
  • Specialized knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, as well as communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
