Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Physician to lead our Anesthesiology team at the Indian Health Service. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, supervising a team of medical professionals, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Anesthesiology Services: Administer various types of anesthetics to render patients insensitive to pain during operations and other procedures.
  • Supervise Medical Staff: Provide technical guidance and assistance to Nurse Anesthetists and other professional medical staff, and be responsible for all clinically-related activities of the department.
  • Develop and Implement Policies: Establish policy and procedure manuals for anesthesiology services, and prepare all required reports.
  • Manage Department Operations: Responsible for the supervision of provision, planning, development, organization, integration, administration, and evaluation of the Anesthesia Department.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation.
  • Licensure: Permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Experience: 5 years of residency training in Anesthesiology or have equivalent Anesthesiology specialized experience and training that demonstrates the ability to provide independent patient care.
  • Certification: Board Certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Managerial Experience: Proven experience in supervising a team of medical professionals and managing department operations.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, and to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
