Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Internal Auditor to join our team at CAPPS, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and agency policies and procedures, and will play a key role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and complete audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and agency policies
  • Review IT systems and controls to assess data reliability and security
  • Prepare and review audit documentation to ensure conformance with auditing standards
  • Present findings and recommendations to management and clients
  • Work independently with some guidance from supervisors
  • Assist with the development of annual audit plans and quality control programs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Seven (7) years' audit work experience in a public or government entity
  • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Experience leading audits and developing audit objectives and programs
  • Proficiency in using Teammate auditing software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience auditing and ensuring compliance with grant agreements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing methods and systems
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards
  • Knowledge of information technology principles, terminology, analytics, programming, automated systems, and queries
  • Knowledge of management systems and business processes
  • Ability to compose clear and concise audit documentation and reports
  • Ability to gather and analyze accurate and relevant data and information
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Ability to manage time and priorities efficiently

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Normal office work environment
  • May involve walking, standing, pulling, pushing, kneeling, stooping, and bending
  • May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends
  • May involve travel (up to 10%)
