Position Overview: Tact Staff is seeking a skilled travel nurse RN specializing in Oncology for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.

Client Expectations:
Patient ratios of 1:4+ are expected. Candidates should have a minimum of 1.5 years of acute care experience. First-time travelers are welcome. Weekend and holiday shifts are required. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and CHEMO are mandatory. Nurses will float to various inpatient oncology units as needed, and may also be required to assist in other IMC areas based on unit demands. Note that block scheduling is not available, and local candidates are accepted.

Patient Demographics: The unit consists of a medical oncology focus with BMT overflow, new leukemia inductions, multiple transfusions, count recovery, and hematology. The intermediate care area has 5 beds.

Essential Skills: Candidates should possess experience in PCU and inpatient oncology, including knowledge of leukemia, blood dyscrasias, lymphoma, and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Proficiency in accessing and managing ports, central lines, infusion pumps, PICC lines, starting IVs, PCA pump management, telemonitoring, and neutropenic precautions is required.
