Peraton is seeking an Underwater Vehicle Operations Specialist to contribute to our mission objectives.
Your role will involve executing mission assignments aimed at data acquisition and evaluation for mine countermeasure initiatives in diverse maritime environments, including harbors, coastal regions, and shipping routes.
Operations of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) will be carried out from small vessels launched from shore, aboard various Navy units at sea, and from forward operating bases.
Support will be provided to NIWC PAC and U.S. Navy forces for overseas mine countermeasure (MCM) response operations, including ongoing experimentation with emerging technologies pertinent to UUV missions.
What You Will Do:
Conduct weekly on-water UUV missions to fulfill objectives assigned by government or project leadership.
Perform operational-level troubleshooting and maintenance on the MK18 UUV system and other platforms.
Mandatory six-month deployments to various operational areas, with travel, accommodation, and compensation covered by the company.
Periodic travel within the continental U.S. to support UUV testing and evaluation at military installations or to conduct shipboard operations.
Ability to obtain (within two years) and maintain a Department of Defense SECRET security clearance; eligibility requires U.S. citizenship and proof of citizenship.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Meet military standards for weight carrying limits and fulfill requirements for handling portable UUVs and associated equipment.
Complete all prerequisites for, and successfully maintain, a forklift operator's license for vehicles under 25k and Cat 3 crane certification.

0 years of experience with a BS/BA degree, or 4 years of experience without a degree.

Active or current DoD Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one within two years.
Valid U.S. driver's license.

Qualifications:
Experience in testing and evaluating unmanned/robotic systems, including data collection, recording, analysis, and reporting of performance metrics.
Experience in developing and drafting documentation on programmatic topics, such as UUV tactics, operational procedures, deployment guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
Experience with side-scan sonar and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic troubleshooting; a technical background in mechanical or electrical fields is advantageous.
An active Secret clearance is preferred, and candidates with a clearance will be prioritized.
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while providing exceptional customer service and support.
A BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 0-2 years of experience; alternatively, a high school diploma with 4+ years of relevant Navy/military training and experience or underwater robotics/UUV training may be considered; related MCM or technological experience may also be taken into account.
