Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Teacher to join our team at Tahquamenon Area Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Elementary Music to students in grades K-5.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that align with the district's curriculum.
  • Use technology to support and differentiate instruction, promoting student engagement and motivation.
  • Establish a positive classroom environment that fosters relationships and encourages student growth.
  • Support students' non-academic needs through the student support network district system.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Participate in department, school, and district meetings to collaborate with colleagues and stay informed about district initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Music Education.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • Valid state licensing to meet Highly Qualified requirements.
  • Previous classroom teaching experience in a comparable district is preferred.
