Job Summary

Radiology Associates of Ocala seeks a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating sonographic equipment, performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate sonographic equipment to perform diagnostic examinations
  • Communicate results of examinations to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Schedule and coordinate patient exams, including cardiac echo procedures
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
  • Examine sonographic images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies
  • Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for ultrasound procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma; graduation from a formal sonography program
  • Minimum of one or more years' experience and/or training in ECHO Sonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential with an AE specialty or RDCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in ultrasound echo procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of safety hazards related to radiology and sonography
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a medical office, exam and treatment rooms, and will be exposed to radiation, needles, and communicable diseases and other conditions common to radiology setting.
