Overview:
The Data/Business Analyst acts as a crucial intermediary between product stakeholders and development teams, responsible for gathering and documenting essential requirements for product design. This is achieved through interviews and collaborative workshops with subject matter experts and stakeholders. The analyst meticulously captures detailed requirements and produces high-level design documentation, including activity workflows, business data dictionaries, and data mapping documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with business partners to document actionable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers and subject matter experts to create and refine screen mockups.
- Conduct data mapping from source to target tables, understanding the complexities and business applications of the data.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure clarity and accuracy in requirement delivery.
- Review QA scripts as necessary.
- Utilize SQL queries for data analysis as required.
- Provide timely clarifications to developers regarding business requirements.
- Oversee the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycle.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for requirements and delivery between Development, Product Owners, and Subject Matter Experts.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis and/or Requirements documentation.
- 3+ years of experience collaborating with clients or stakeholder groups to resolve issues and design solutions.
- 2+ years in a data-intensive analytical environment.
- Basic SQL skills; capable of creating and executing SQL scripts.
- Familiarity with Risk and Compliance domains.
- 1 year of experience in an Agile development setting.
- Participation in User Acceptance Testing for at least two projects, including test script creation and defect validation.
- Experience working directly with developers to interpret business requirements.
- Strong ability to articulate the rationale behind analyses and communicate ideas clearly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with documentation in Confluence Wiki.
- Familiarity with JIRA for workflow management.
- Effective written communication skills, including experience in writing Epics and Stories in an Agile context.
- Strong verbal communication skills; experience facilitating meetings with executives and technical personnel.
