Duties Summary:
This role involves performing complex engineering tasks related to the design, installation, operation, and upkeep of mechanical systems and equipment. Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing engineering plans and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, as well as executing other related functions as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct office and field assessments of proposed projects, recommending appropriate design and equipment choices.
  • Perform preliminary and final testing of pumping systems.
  • Evaluate the operational efficiency of existing systems and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Review engineering plans and specifications for mechanical components to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to interpret technical codes and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Candidates must possess a degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant professional experience. A valid professional mechanical engineering license in the State of Hawai'i is required at the time of application, along with a valid driver's license.

Knowledge and Skills:
Applicants should be well-versed in mechanical engineering principles, engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, and hydraulics. Proficiency in reviewing engineering specifications and conducting tests on mechanical systems is essential.
