Financial Analyst Job Description

At VPD Government Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our federal clients by providing expertise in financial management and reporting, planning and analysis, and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial data to provide forecasting support and identify trends in financial performance.
  • Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, return on equity, and earnings per share.
  • Review all non-legal pertinent information about prospective deals and oversee financial functions such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control.
  • Evaluate and analyze capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, and other relevant financial data.
  • Study a company's financial data to provide advice for guiding business investments and overall financial strategy.
  • Analyze current and past financial data and performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and projections based on analysis and evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation.
  • Explore investment opportunities and establish and evaluate profit plans.
  • Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.
  • Provide financial models and forecasting to support business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related field.
  • Familiarity with financial programs and software.
  • Basic understanding of principles of finance.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to persuade senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and ability to multitask.
  • Presentation skills and time management and organizational skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
