Designing Environments that Connect People to Nature

We are seeking a talented Landscape Architect to join our team in New York. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and sustainable environments that connect people to the natural world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage landscape architecture projects, collaborating with multiple teams to provide technical guidance and approval processes.
  • Develop, modify, and review drawings for landscape architecture projects, ensuring creative thinking and design excellence.
  • Contribute to Firmwide design excellence and problem-solving, demonstrating understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
  • Incorporate sustainable and urban design principles, mobility, ecology, and infrastructure solutions into projects.
  • Manage and maintain positive relationships with diverse clients and public officials, ensuring HOK document standards are met and documents are archived appropriately.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and participate in client interviews, understanding intra-company agreements, contracts, and deliverables.
  • Mentor staff and proactively engage in staff development, promoting a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Foster a commitment to external and internal client service, assisting with HOK marketing efforts and public presentations.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD, V-Ray, Sketchup, GIS, Ecotect, Enscape, Lumion, and Grasshopper.
  • Proficiency in BIM, Revit preferred.
  • Proficiency in NewForma and Deltek preferred.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or architecture, plus 10+ years' experience; or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Master's degree in landscape architecture or urban design preferred.
  • Registration with current license preferred.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge of Construction Administration.
  • Previous experience with civic and campus architecture, including public and private projects, plazas, streetscapes, medical research buildings, city agency, and process, and/or stadium design, preferred.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000.
