Job Summary:

The RN Pre-op/PACU is a critical member of our perioperative team, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic technique will enable you to provide exceptional care to patients from infancy to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care in the perioperative setting, including preoperative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia care.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting, preferably in the perioperative or cath lab.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN or higher degree.
  • CPAN or CAPA certification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
