Job Summary

This position provides delivery of patient care with a smooth transition from academic nurse to professional Registered Nurse (RN). The Nurse Resident will demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned, coordinating the delivery of patient care, completing required documentation, participating in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, and effectively utilizing the Nursing Process.

Requirements
  • Recent graduate from an RN program at an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Scheduled to take the NCLEX and eligible for licensing as an RN in Kentucky.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • CPR certification within 30 days.
  • Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) License eligible.
  • Two-year service commitment to LifePoint Hospitals working 36-40 hours per week, post completion of orientation period in your department.
