Job Title: Hospice Aide

Region 1 Inc is seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Aide to join our team. As a Hospice Aide, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals in need of hospice services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care and coordination of hospice services
  • Assist patients with personal care needs, including bathing, transferring, and ambulation
  • Provide patient care treatments as assigned by the hospice RN, including changing non-sterile dressings and monitoring fluid intake and output
  • Perform incidental household services to prevent or postpone institutionalization
  • Coordinate services with the Clinical Manager/Registered Nurse and other agency personnel to optimize patient care
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Successful completion of a Board of Nursing approved training and competency evaluation program
  • Current listing with the Division of Facility Services Registry
  • One year of patient care and record keeping experience in an acute care or custodial setting
  • Documented proof of at least 75 certified education hours
Working Environment:

Patient care: 80%, Travel: 15%, Office: 5%

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stoop or kneel, bend, lift, push up to 50 pounds, reach with hands and or arms, and smell frequently when providing patient care
  • Ability to use hands to write, type, and perform other duties to meet the needs of the patient and family
Essential Job Functions:
  1. Provide direct patient care of hospice/homecare services
  2. Provide appropriate documentation as required
