About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fund Accountant to enhance our finance team. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for the accurate maintenance of financial records and reports, performing reconciliations, and executing in-depth variance analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of GAAP, Financial Accounting, and Fund Accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct thorough variance analysis to gain insights into each line item on the balance sheet.
- Establish and uphold internal controls for financial reporting.
- Utilize advanced Excel functionalities, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, for data analysis and reporting.
- Oversee the accounting processes for private equity real estate funds and private credit.
- Compile and review fund-level financial statements, including the Statement of Net Assets and Statement of Operations.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and timely audit process.
- Support management with various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or similar roles.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, Financial Accounting, and Fund Accounting.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Experience with accounting for private equity real estate funds and private credit is advantageous.
- Strong grasp of balance sheet and variance analysis.
- Proven ability to maintain and implement internal controls for financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial data preparation and entry.
- CPA designation or progress towards obtaining CPA designation is preferred.
