Overview

At Amedisys, we're dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in the comfort of our patients' homes. As a Behavioral Health Nurse in our Home Care team, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to individuals with complex behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough nursing evaluations to identify behavioral health and psychiatric needs.
  • Monitor patients' physical and mental status, recognizing potential complications and medication side effects.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating cognitive and technical aspects of care, medication regimes, and safety interventions.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless coordination of care and effective communication with patients and families.
  • Supervise LPNs and HHAs, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you're assigned to work in.
  • Master's degree in mental health nursing or psychiatric specialty, or equivalent experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting.
  • Current CPR certification and valid driver's license, with reliable transportation and liability insurance.
