About the Role:

American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking an exceptional engineer to lead our System Engineering team in developing innovative thermal solutions for our products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing fluid systems, leveraging your expertise in thermal management and tribology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement advanced thermal models to simulate and analyze fluid system behavior.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal solutions into our products.
  3. Design and execute experiments to validate thermal models and optimize system performance.
  4. Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to address thermal challenges.
  5. Work closely with our CAE team to develop and optimize thermal system models.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Engineering preferred.
  • Proven expertise in thermal modeling, tribology, and lubrication fundamentals.
  • Experience with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB) and 3D modeling (NX preferred).
  • Automotive component/system testing experience a plus.
