We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Specialist to join our team at The University of Miami. As an Audio Visual Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support for events and daily operations, ensuring seamless execution of audio, visual, and multimedia equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Event Support: Set up and operate audio and video equipment, including integrated equipment, for events and performances.
- Daily Operations: Assist with the physical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of audio/video equipment and other multimedia equipment.
- Customer Service: Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support to customers, including walk-throughs and training on audio, video, and multimedia equipment.
- Supervision: Supervise student assistants and provide guidance on event support requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year demonstrated live sound/music engineering experience in an event-driven environment.
- Skills: Audio engineering experience, ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends, and certification in operation and safe use of an electric scissor lift.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 75 lbs and climb/reach.
- Education: High school plus 2 years demonstrated experience or Associate's degree in a related field.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in an audio-visual or computer support department in a university and/or hospitality setting.
- Skills: Experience working with stage lighting, gobos, light blending, and lighting boards/consoles/software, and strong written and oral communication skills.
