Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking an experienced Part Time Advanced Practice Provider to join the Surgical, Medical, and Cardiac ICU Team at University Hospitals.
Job Summary:This position will work 10 12 hr. Day/Night shifts over a 6 week schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will have experience as an ACNP and APP.
Responsibilities:- Partner with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.
- Manage the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).
- Perform advanced skills of comprehensive airway management including endotracheal intubations using direct laryngoscopy and video assisted laryngoscopy, surgical airway management including open surgical cricothyrotomy.
- Partner with Attending and Respiratory Therapist to manage ventilator, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, and high-flow modalities.
- Perform invasive procedures to include central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated.
- Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
- Respond to all full trauma activations in ED, intracranial hemorrhages and aortic syndromes that are being transferred to a higher level of care in the ED.
- Demonstrated competence as a practitioner.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area.
- Computers and selected office equipment.
- Nurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.
- Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.
- CNS with prescriptive authority.
- Nurse Practitioner: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.
- Physician Assistant: BLS required; ACLS preferred; NCCPA-Certified.
