Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our team in Acute Care. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with various speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and functional goals
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Identify factors affecting patient comfort and attend to these needs
  • Plan for and complete patient discharge, including providing written home programs and patient/family teaching
  • Complete required documentation, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, and discharge summaries
  • Apply insurance guidelines regarding authorization and number of visits
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology
  • Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 10 lbs from waist to overhead, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance is also required.

This position may be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards as well as blood and body fluids, and the ability to wear protective clothing as needed is required.

This position may require travel, and the ability to operate all necessary equipment is required.
