Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Speech Therapist - Acute Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language services to patients in acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve patients' communication skills and overall quality of life.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, lift and carry up to 40 pounds at waist height, and push/pull with 30 pounds of force.
