The American Red Cross is a leading humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and providing support to those in need. As a Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service, you will play a vital role in the blood donation process, ensuring a positive experience for our volunteer donors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with donors on a personal level, listening to their stories and emphasizing the significance of their contributions.
- Work collaboratively with your colleagues to foster a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging repeat donations.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the transportation and setup of equipment at various donation sites, which may involve driving Red Cross vehicles.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible scheduling is essential to accommodate the needs of our donors, which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Schedules are typically provided two to three weeks in advance.
Compensation:
- Starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
- This position is governed by a union contract.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in customer service and strong verbal communication skills are essential.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
- Physical capabilities may include lifting and moving heavy items, as well as standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare or phlebotomy roles is advantageous.
- Leadership experience is a plus.
