Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the Seattle Art Museum. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our physical spaces, including the Seattle Art Museum, the Seattle Asian Art Museum, and the Olympic Sculpture Park.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Monitor and maintain the proper operation of all facilities' systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and lighting
  • Conduct daily building rounds to identify and address any issues or concerns
  • Perform periodic maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment
  • Accurately record and document maintenance activities and repairs
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Building Plant Maintenance or a related field
  • City of Seattle Refrigeration Operating Engineer License and City of Seattle Grade IV Boiler Fireman certification
  • 5 years of experience in operating essential buildings or critical environments
  • Working knowledge of direct digital control HVAC systems, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
